Orienteering

Wednesday 14 May was when we walked down to Pt Englard Reserve to take part in the Tamaki inter-school orienteering competition. We had a team of 20 students. We left our school by foot at 9.15 am hoping to arrive at the venue before 10 am. We arrived at exactly 10 am and quickly settled into our year levels.

The competition was well set out. We saw some markers on our way to the park and had a fair idea of how far we had to run. Each year level started at different times and very member of each team had a different course to run.

Our team did very well. All members finished at different times and all had fun running the course. Some members of our team ran together because they had the same course. The rain did not stop the event and all students seemed to enjoy running in the rain.

At the end of the event, the rain was heavier and the wind was very strong. Luckily for us Pt England school offered to transport us by their school van. An offer we gladly accepted.

We had fun representing our school and congratulations to all participants of the day.
